New 3 wheeler rival for Morgan and Triking

14th August 2013

It is likely that Morgan and Triking may soon have some serious competition in the heritage sports three wheeler market.

Castle Three has produced concepts of a three wheeler designed for both competition and road use, which will likely go head to head with the two established models from Morgan and Triking. The new company takes over from where the original one, The Castle Motor Company, left off in 1922 after three years of three wheeler production.

Based in Alnwick, Northumberland Castle Three has been working with Xenophya Design, vehicle designer Charles Purvis and engineering and motorsport specialist GTME to produce concept designs. In the coming weeks Castle Three will be raising equity from the general public, motoring enthusiasts and business angels using crowd funding sources such as Crowdcube.com, as well as direct investment, to finalise design, build prototypes and commence production.

The three wheeled vehicle, with two wheels at the front axle and one at the rear, will be driven by a third-party-supplied internal combustion engine with two V-twin engines and one flat twin engine currently under consideration. Castle Three will produce completed vehicles only and they will not be available in kit form.
